The IN Festival venues

The Theatre Jean-Deschamps (Cité Médiévale)

Le théâtre Jean-Deschamps

A site unique in France which brings the greatest artists to the IN Festival.

Each summer, the Théâtre de la Cité Médiévale becomes a major venue for shows where leading figures on the French and international musical stage, as well as theatre, dance, opera and classical music perform. Every evening, the magic of the setting together with the quality of the artists and the technical resources used, provides the public with great emotional moments. Without any doubt, the history and the soul of this place gives these performances another dimension that the artists and spectators find nowhere else.

The Château Comtal (Cité Médiévale)

In the heart of the Cité Médiévale, the Château Comtal is an edifice that cannot be ignored since it is a fortress within a fortress. For a month, this setting hosts the plays and dances in the Festival de Carcassonne programme. An exceptional place laden with history that makes this place so intimate and where the performances take on another dimension. For some great names in French theatre such as Francis Huster, the Château Comtal is one of their favourite places to present their plays to the Carcassonne public.
